India’s T20I Captain Suryakumar Yadav Responds to Exclusion from 2025 Champions Trophy Squad
Indian T20 team captain Suryakumar Yadav has reacted to his exclusion from the Indian team for the 2025 Champions Trophy. He acknowledged the need to improve his performance in the ODI format. Suryakumar said, “If I had performed well, I would have been in the Champions Trophy team. I didn’t perform well, so I have to accept it.”
Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina also expressed surprise at Suryakumar Yadav’s omission from the team. Raina said, “I am confident that Rohit will lead India to victory in the Champions Trophy, but I’m surprised that Suryakumar Yadav is not in the squad. He could have been the X-factor in the middle order.”
Suryakumar Yadav failed to make a place in the team due to a lack of consistency in the ODI format. His performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy saw a decline, where he only managed 38 runs in his last five matches.
After the announcement of the Indian team for the 2025 Champions Trophy, Suryakumar Yadav is now focused on the upcoming T20 series against England, where he is committed to contributing to the team’s success.
