The third match of the Champions Trophy 2025 saw South Africa take on Afghanistan at the National Stadium, Karachi. After winning the toss, South Africa opted to bat first, putting up an impressive total of 315/6 in 50 overs.

South Africa’s innings was anchored by Ryan Rickelton, who played a superb knock of 103 off 106 balls, ensuring a solid foundation for the Proteas. He was well supported by contributions from Temba Bavuma (58 off 76 balls) and Rassie van der Dussen (52 off 46 balls). Towards the end, Aiden Markram remained unbeaten on 52, adding crucial runs in the death overs.

However, Afghanistan bowlers fought back with regular wickets in the latter half of the innings. David Miller (14 off 18 balls) and Marco Jansen (0 off 1 ball) fell in quick succession, but South Africa still managed to cross the 300-run mark.
