Mushfiqur Rahim’s golden duck added to Bangladesh’s woes, as they were reduced to 35/5 in 8.3 overs.
Towhid Hridoy played a fighting knock and found support in Jaker Ali, who helped steady the innings. The duo stitched a crucial partnership that kept Bangladesh in the game. Jaker Ali played a patient yet crucial innings, scoring 68 runs in 114 balls. Hridoy played a spectacular innings, reaching his century in 118 balls before being dismissed for 100 by Harshit Rana. Despite his efforts, Bangladesh was bowled out for 228 in 49.4 overs.
India’s Bowling Performance
Mohammed Shami led the attack with disciplined bowling, taking a brilliant five-wicket haul. His early breakthroughs and control over the game made him the standout bowler. Harshit Rana, on his Champions Trophy debut, impressed with his pace and accuracy, claiming three crucial wickets. Axar Patel also contributed effectively, picking up two wickets and maintaining the pressure on the Bangladeshi batters.
